The Natchez 6.5 Mixed Doubles team advanced to the semifinals of the USA Adult League State Mixed Doubles Championship Tournament by winning two matches on Saturday at Vidalia No.1 Tennis Courts.

In the morning match, the team from Natchez defeated a team from Jackson 2-1.

&uot;It was a great match,&uot; said Emily Eidt, Natchez team member. &uot;Everybody was cheering for everybody. We had to win today to advanced to the semifninals. It was good sportsmanship.&uot;

In the afternoon match, the Natchez team defeated a team from the Gulf Coast 3-0.

&uot;Our opponents were very nice,&uot; said Natchez team member Karen Blain. &uot;We had the hometown advantage.&uot;

The Natchez team will play in the semifinals this morning at 10 a.m. at the Duncan Park Tennis Courts.
