GLOSTER — Services for William Roy “Cricket” Foreman, 85, of Crosby, who died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, at St. Joseph’s Carpenter House in Baton Rouge, will be at 1 p.m. today at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Reggie Forman, the Rev. Joey Barnard and the Rev. Bart Houston officiating.
Burial will follow at Roseland Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Home in Gloster.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mr. Foreman was born May 1, 1925, in Clear Springs, the son of Roddis and Ella Bateman Foreman. He was a Methodist and was a member of the Gloster Lodge No. 399.
William was a lifetime logger and was owner of William Foreman Logging. During his retirement, he was an avid member of Paul’s Coffee Club.
He loved to meet new people and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Leake Foreman; his parents; and three brothers, Cullie Foreman, Paul Foreman and Monette “Buddy” Foreman.
Survivors include three sons, James Foreman and wife, Dianne, Mike Foreman and wife, Patricia, and David Foreman and wife, Sandy, all of Crosby; one daughter, Beverly Maricelli and husband, Barry, of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; one sister, Barbara Vaughn and husband, Johnny, of Tupelo; two sisters-in-law, Melba Foreman of Natchez and Doris Foreman of Coles; five grandchildren, Missy Lindsey and husband, Todd, of Hamburg, La., Jennifer Lambuth and husband, Shane, of Natchez, Bridget Foreman and Will Foreman, both of Crosby, Emily Foreman of Starkville, Amber Savant and husband, Heath, of Baton Rouge and Trey Smith and wife, Megan, of St. Francisville; eight great-grandchildren, Emily Bordelon of Alexandria, La., Jon and Tristen Bordelon, both of Hamburg, Lauren and Allison Lambuth, both of Natchez, Robbie Savant of Baton Rouge, and Aiden and Taylor Ann Smith, both of St. Francisville, La.; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family requests donations be made to the Shriners Children Hospital, 3100 Samford Ave., Shreveport, LA 77103.
