BROOKHAVEN – Centreville rolled to a 42-27 victory over Brookhaven Academy Friday thanks in part to a three touchdown performance by John Vincent.
Vincent scored the only points of the first quarter on an 11-yard touchdown run.
He then opened the second quarter with a 45-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Josh Jones.
Johnathon Newman added a 1-yard run for a 21-point lead that proved to be more than enough.
Touchdown runs from B.J. Robertson and Drew Havard also contributed to the Tigers’ win.
Brookhaven’s first score came in the second quarter on a 23-yard touchdown pass from Jake Sessums to Ben Davis.
Sessums later hit Adam Smith for two touchdowns, and Dustin King scored the Cougars final touchdown on a 1-yard run.
Robertson led the team in tackles with 11, and Patrick Kimery had eight.
Centreville plays at Columbia next week.
