NATCHEZ — Services for Leroy Davis, 86, of Natchez, who died Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Wynn and the Rev. Wayne Spencer officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday, both at the funeral home.
Mr. Davis was born Sept. 28, 1925, in Warsau, Fla., the son of Leamon Alton and Dovie Akridge Davis.
Mr. Davis was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and Army Air Force Paratroopers. He was retired from International Paper Company after 40 years of service.
Mr. Davis was an avid golfer and a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He was loving and devoted to his wife, family and church friends. He was also a member of the Natchez Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Weeks Davis; one stepson, Danny Weeks and wife, Melinda; one grandson, Austin Cole Weeks, all of Natchez; and one niece, Charlene Rawls of Jacksonville, Fla.
Pallbearers will be Brian Leach, Jerry Leach, Ronnie Mayers, George Alan Mayers, Ryan Wingfield and Austin Cole Weeks.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church.
