A 47-year-old Natchez resident died Saturday night in a one-vehicle accident on U.S. 555, four miles north of Natchez.

Paramedics took James A. Carradine, 47, 201 Dumas Drive, to Natchez Regional Medical Center, after the 8:43 p.m. accident, where he was pronounced dead.

Troopers with the Mississippi Highway Patrol believe Carradine was driving south, when he lost control of his 1979 Ford Pickup and struck an embankment, at the intersection of Foster Mound Road.

He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The name of a passenger who was riding in the vehicle was not available, the Highway Patrol said.
