When Manchester handed Adams County Christian School its fifth loss of the season on Sept. 16, it seemed unlikely that the teams would meet again in the post-season.

About as unlikely as the Rebels finishing 5-6 and entering the playoffs on a three-game winning streak.

&uot;This team has a lot of character,&uot; ACCS coach Bo Swilley said. &uot;They overcame a lot of adversity and came together as a team.&uot;

Manchester took advantage of Rebel miscues to win their first meeting 23-14.

&uot;We let them have some big plays defensively, and on offense, we had some failed opportunities – turnovers inside the 20,&uot; Swilley said. &uot;We’re a little different team now.&uot;

Having already played Manchester once, Swilley said he knows what to expect from the team’s wing offense.

&uot;Their fullback is a good athlete,&uot; he said. &uot;Stopping him is the key to stopping their offense.

&uot;They’re sound, fundamentally,&uot; Swilley continued. &uot;They don’t make mistakes. They wait for you to make them and then they capitalize on them.&uot;

The Rebels will be without wide receiver and defensive back Trey Mardis, who separated his shoulder during last week’s 22-18 win over Riverfield.

&uot;He’s a big part of what we do offensively and defensively,&uot;&160;Swilley said. &uot;But Bruce Wiley has stepped up and filled the position, and he looks good.&uot;
