FAYETTE — Services for Helen Ford Jackson, 81, of Fayette, who died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Poplar Hill African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. E. Charles Cotton officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home in Fayette.
Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jackson was born March 5, 1931, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Isaac Ford and Marie Starks.
She was a homemaker and a member and deaconess at Poplar Hill AME Church. She was also a member of United Brothers and Sisters Society.
Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, William Jackson; her parents, two sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include four sons, William Howard Jackson and wife, Shirley, Arthur Henry Jackson and wife, Carolyn, all of Vicksburg, Aaron Jackson and wife, Diane, of Fayette and Arthur Jackson Jr. and wife, Victoria, of Bude; five daughters, Marie Wyatt, Helen Houston, Mary Garrett, Eurlene Jackson and Ethel Johnson and husband, Jerry, all of Fayette; two brothers, Joseph Cruel Sr. and Roosevelt Cruel, both of Fayette; two sisters, Rose Mae Carpenter of Lorman and Susie Mae Short of Fayette; 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
