Reward being offered for info leading to man’s arrest

VIDALIA — A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a Monterey man.
According to a press release from the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office, Harvey Louis Shavers, 42, pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and attempted illegal carrying of weapons in August, and was ordered to report to the CPSO on Nov. 2 to begin serving his the jail time to which he was sentenced.
The sentences included five years of hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections, two six-month terms in parish prison and a two-year hard labor sentence without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence, all of which were to run concurrent.
Shavers failed to show up to begin serving his sentence, and a warrant for contempt of court-failure to appear has been issued.
