Truck driver Ralph Roby waits Thursday on U.S. 33 southeast of Fayette for a tow truck to move his fire-damaged truck to Fayette. Roby, who was transporting logs for Southern Lumber Company, was traveling to Hermanville when he noticed trouble with his engine. When he stopped along U.S. 33 to check under the hood, the engine burst into flames. Volunteer firefighters from the Fayette Fire Department responded to the alarm and extinguished the blaze which destroyed the truck’s cab and its contents. No one was injured.
