FERRIDAY, La. — A woman, who is eight months pregnant, was cut in the head with a box cutter during a domestic dispute Saturday evening at Kyle Road Apartments.

Tammy Robinson, 24, of Kyle Road Apartments, was treated and released from Riverland Medical Center, with no injury to her unborn child, said Ferriday Police Chief Bobby Sheppard.

The Ferriday Police Department arrested Latonya L. Leonard, 23, 367 Townsend Lane, in connection with the incident.

Police charged Leonard with aggravated second-degree battery as opposed to aggravated battery because the victim was pregnant, Sheppard said.

Leonard was being held without bond Sunday at the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office. Other arrests may be pending, Sheppard said.
