A 24-8 Trinity run in the third quarter put the game away.

Chad Ridley led Trinity (16-3, 9-0) with 21 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists. Senior Tyler Burn notched his best game of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds. He also shot 6-of-6 from the free throw line.

Gregory Ketchings and Brett Mount each added 12 points for Trinity, all of Mount’s points coming from three-pointers.

Marcus Tabola led Chamberlain-Hunt with 16 points and Daniel McFatter added 11.

The Lady Saints were even more dominating in the girls varsity game, slamming the Lady Wildcats 76-34.

Trinity (21-3, 9-0) outscored Chamberlain-Hunt 22-6 in the second quarter to take a 45-19 halftime lead, and to put the game out of reach.

Despite the convincing win, the Lady Saints weren’t pleased with their performance.

&uot;It was a ‘w’ but it wasn’t pretty,&uot; said Becky Bass, who finished with 12 points.

Vanessa Gordon scored a game-high 20 points to lead Trinity. Lauren Tanner scored 12 points and had a team-high eight rebounds.

A bright spot for the Lady Wildcats was the fact they held Sara Greer, one of Trinity’s most dangerous weapons, in check. She scored only five points.

&uot;None of our shots would fall,&uot; Greer said. &uot;Rebounding was the key. We got a lot of second and third shots. Hopefully we’ll learn something from our mistakes tonight.&uot;

Neely Hatcher led Chamberlain-Hunt with 15 points, and Jessie Anderson added nine points.

Trinity steps out of district play when it plays at Porter’s Chapel in Vicksburg at 2 p.m today.

&uot;We didn’t play too well tonight, but we’ve got to show up tomorrow against Porter’s Chapel,&uot; Greer said. &uot;We can’t beat good teams like the way we played tonight. PC is really scrappy and we just have to stop them.&uot;
