ENTERPRISE, La. – An 65-year-old Enterprise community man was found dead Monday night, and the Catahoula Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case as a homicide, Sheriff Ronnie Book said Tuesday.

But Book would not state the apparent cause of Herbert Townsend’s death or speculate on possible suspects or motives, saying it would jeopardize the investigation. Coroner Raymond Rouse also would not comment on the case. Townsend’s body was sent to Jackson to be autopsied, and the autopsy was expected to be conducted today, Book said.
