Mae & Friends selling lemonade Friday

Five years ago, my daughter, Mae, had her first lemonade stand.

Her goal was to make enough to buy one Kuranda bed for the dogs at the animal shelter.

With support from devoted friends and the community, she ended up making enough for three!

The next year, she had friends also wanting to help the animals at the shelter.

So Mae’s Lemonade Stand became Mae & Friends’ Lemonade Stand.

Each year, the stand has grown, and last year the girls raised more than $3,000.

The shelter is always in need of monetary donations, and this is a great way to do something to help.

This coming Friday will be the fifth annual Mae & Friends’ Lemonade Stand from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Natchez Convention Center on Canal Street.

Mae Holyoak, Alexandra Person, Sophie Webber, Taylor Baroni, Allie Feltus and Annalyce Riley will all be ready to serve you some lemonade and cookies.

They will also have great arts and crafts to sell along with their paintings of cats and dogs.

The paintings will be at Sun, Moon & Stars this week through Thursday for a silent auction.

The silent auction for the paintings will continue at the stand on Friday. All proceeds are donated to the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society.

Come by this Friday to see us and help support a great cause!

Ginna Holyoak is the mother of Mae, who organizes a lemonade stand each summer.
