Tensas Academy’s B-team defeated Trinity Episcopal’s B-team two matches to one Thursday in prep tennis action at the Trinity Tennis Courts.
&uot;We’re playing our ‘lower echelon’ players today,&uot; Trinity tennis coach Adam Cardneaux said before the matches started.
In the girls singles match, Trinity senior Lindsey Hunt defeated Sarah Vizard of Tensas, 3-6, 7-6 (5) and 7-4 in the tiebraker set.
&uot;It was pretty even,&uot; Hunt said. &uot;I’m not used to playing singles, so I had to get into the groove. It took me a set to get into it.&uot;
Of the second-set comeback, she said, &uot;I was determined and was hitting more volleys.&uot;
In the number one boys doubles match, Tensas’ team of Thomas Crigler and Tyler White came from one set down to defeat Trinity’s Mark Hamelin and Sam Kirby, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5.
In the number two boys doubles match, Marshall Hardwick and Randall Borsch of Tensas had little problem in defeating Cory Vlyman and Alex Allain of Trinity, 6-1, 6-2.
