FAYETTE — Services for Sherry Ray “Baby” Shaw, 69, of Fayette, who died Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Beckett Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Fayette with the Rev. Diane Banks officiating.
Burial will follow at Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Fayette under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home in Fayette.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Shaw was born Oct. 11, 1942, in Fayette, the daughter of Garfield and Martha Haltix Shaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include a loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Mary Shaw; four daughters, Janis Hargrave and husband, Samuel, of Atlanta, Sharon Hudson and husband, Maurice, Sandra Oliver and husband, Jerry, all of Fayette, and Rachel Bosman and husband, Dwan, of Clearwater, Fla.; twin sister, Shirley Faye Howell of Detroit; four brothers, Rayfield and Mark Shaw of Detroit, L.C. Shaw of Memphis, Tenn., and Nathan Shaw of Fayette; three brothers-in-law, Joseph and Marion Thomas, both of Fayette, and Jerry Thomas of Acworth, Ga.; three sisters-in-law, Cynthia McBride, Shirley Thomas and Bobbie January, all of Fayette; nine grandchildren, Sametria, LaShundra, Jeremy, Samarian, Breanna, JeDarius, Drashunna, Shelvin Jr. and Rayshaude; a special nephew, Raymond Shaw of Fayette; a special first cousin, Rosie Green of Fayette; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
