VIDALIA — A bank account has been created at Concordia Bank to benefit the Vidalia lineman who was shocked and hospitalized earlier this month after touching a live wire outside the municipal complex.

Travis Todd was working to examine the municipal complex’s wiring diagram in a transformer near City Hall when he accidently touched a live wire.

Vidalia Mayor Hyram Copeland said Todd is still at the hospital, but should be released in the next few weeks after several skin grafts are complete.

“It’s really a miracle how well he’s doing,” Copeland said.

Funds can be donated at any of the Concordia Bank locations by mentioning Todd’s name.

Todd had been employed as a lineman with the City of Vidalia for approximately 10 years.
