NATCHEZ — Approximately a year after taking over operations at the former Dynasteel facility, Enersteel has added approximately 100 employees and is looking to hire more.
“Things have been going extremely well,” Enersteel General Manager Mack Van Eaton said. “We are continuing to grow the number of employees we have got hired, the forecast for the future business looks good. and we have landed a few new contracts that are going to be beneficial for continued, long-term growth.”
The company has picked up contracts in the energy and chemical industries, and has been building carbon steel and high alloy vessels, Van Eaton said.
The facility also continues to produce the same ductwork that Dynasteel produced.
Most of those constructions are long-term projects.
“Very few things are day-to-day type items for us, but there are things that turn over in a month, but other components take nine months to a year to fabricate and get out the door,” Van Eaton said.
Because the company has a significant log of work ahead for it, Enersteel is looking to expand its 125-strong workforce.
Van Eaton said the company was looking mainly for certified welders and structural plate fitters, but will also need quality control personnel to support production.
Applicants interested in working for Enersteel would need to apply at the WIN Job center at 107 John Pitchford Parkway, and applications are currently being accepted, he said.
In addition to hiring locally, Van Eaton said the company has relocated some personnel in key positions to the area.
“We are committed to the Natchez community and we are very excited for the future,” he said.
Natchez Inc. Executive Director Chandler Russ said what Enersteel has been able to accomplish in the last year has been phenomenal.
“The progress they have made over the last year is tremendous,” Russ said.
“The volume of work that they have secured with that facility and what they accomplished so far and well into the future is tremendous. They have been a huge asset and a great working relationship.
“We are proud they are continuing to grow, continuing to expand and we are looking forward to many more successful years from them in the future.”
When Enersteel took over the Dynasteel facility, the company retained 25 Dynasteel employees.
