NATCHEZ — It’s possible you may get a little wet this weekend, but a number of Miss-Lou events won’t let the weather stop the fun.

The National Weather Service is predicting a 50 percent chance of rain Saturday, but that chance decreases as the weekend progresses.

Team Tatas

Team Tatas Summer Rally will be tonight at Doc Bigloves.

The doors will open at 5 p.m. with a $5 entry fee and games begin at 6 p.m.

Games include a party pong contest for partners only with a charge of $10 entry fee or the karaoke contest and the wackiest bra contest, both with a $2 entry fee.

Winners will receive prizes.

Team Tatas sunglasses and huggies will be for sale.

Meg Freeman started Team Tatas to help support the American Cancer Society after finding out she was diagnosed with breast cancer in Dec. 2011.

All proceeds for this rally will go to Relay for Life.

Mark Twain at the Library!

Concordia Parish Library will be hosting ULM scholar Georgian Potts, presenting the informational program, “Wit, Wisdom, and Woe: the many faces of Mark Twain” at 6 p.m. tonight and again July 26.

These two nights will consist of reading and open discussions concerning the author, his works and who he was as a man.

Both presentations will be at the Vidalia Library.

This event is free to the public.

Teen Excitement at the Library

Concordia Parish Library will be hosting two days of computer classes for teens at 2 p.m., Friday and July 27.

The class, “Media Editing” will focus on the use of software Pinnacle Studio 15, teaching teens how to use still pictures and video to make and edit media advertising and graphic movies.

Both classes will be at the Ferriday Library, instructed by Stephen Collins.

The program is free and open to the public.

Friday Forum

The Friday Forum sponsored by the Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce will be at the Natchez Coffee Company at 8 a.m. Friday.

Friday Forum features community conversations each Friday morning on topics of interest to everyone in our community.

The guests this Friday will be Alcorn State University head football coach Jay Hopson and members of his staff.

This event is free and open to the public.

Natchez Church of God Youth Explosion

Natchez Church of God will host Peculiar Party Ministry Team from Azel, Texas, at 7 p.m. Friday.

Peculiar Party will minister to children of all ages through puppets, drama and singing.

This is event is free to the public.

Natchez Farmers Market

The Natchez Farmers Market will host its Fruit and Vegetable Festival and Watermelon Carving Contest from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Historic Jefferson College will host “EXPLORE! History: Dueling” from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Clark Burkett and Finley Hootsell will discuss the history and techniques of dueling.

Participants will get to try their hand, laying down a challenge to an opponent before actually firing (rubber band) pistols at each other.

The program is free for all ages. Parents should accompany their children.
