KATY, Texas — Memorial services for Mamie Marie Wiley, 95, who died Monday, July 16, 2012, at her home in Weston Lakes, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at The Williams House at Second Baptist Church West Campus with the Rev. Roger Parker officiating.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. at Katy Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. Herb Reeves officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schmidt Funeral Home in Katy, Texas.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mamie Marie Cranfield Pappas Wiley was born Aug. 13, 1916, in Quentin, the daughter of Chester Arthur Cranfield and Nora Storey Cranfield. She was affectionately known to a number of people as “Yia Yia.” In 1937, Mamie and her husband, Nick A. Pappas, started The Liberty Café in Natchez. Mamie had been a resident of Katy since 1992, where she was a member of the Katy Church of Christ.

Survivors include one daughter, Elaine Brown and husband, John; one granddaughter, Tula Clark and husband, Kelly; two great-grandchildren, Cole and Katie; one step-grandson, James Rick Brown and wife, Lisa, and their children, Justin and Kaylee; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
