NATCHEZ — Representatives of the Roth Hill casino project are slated to appear at the Natchez Preservation Commission meeting next week.
According to the meeting agenda, the commission will review casino development plans presented by the Lane Company during a public hearing.
The preservation commission meeting is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at the City Council Chambers on Pearl Street.
Kevin Preston, president of Premier Gaming Group and Natchez Enterprises, declined to divulge casino details Wednesday, but said he will attend the commission meeting. Preston succeeds former Natchez Enterprises President Ted Doody, who has resigned.
Casino representatives are also scheduled to present development plans at the Natchez Planning Commission meeting scheduled for 5 p.m. Jan. 21 at the City Council Chambers.
Mayor Jake Middleton, who hopes the project will kick off within the first quarter of the year, said contractors were at the proposed development site Wednesday obtaining soil samples.
