Still overjoyed with the honor of her recent award, Rosey Dow signed copies of her book Saturday at Cover to Cover in Natchez.
&uot;I’ve really been pleased with the turnout,&uot; said the Natchez resident. &uot;We’ve had a lot of people through here.&uot;
Her latest book, &uot;Reaping the Whirlwind&uot; tied to win the Christy Award this year for Christian fiction in the historical category.
It was not her first historical novel but it was her first to feature actual people and an actual historical event – the Scopes trial in Dayton, Tenn.
As opposed to creating just fictional characters, &uot;I had to research the real person and flesh out the person,&uot; she said.
Charles Hall, of Cover to Cover, said he would like to hold book-signings at the store about twice a month, especially those of regional interest like Dow.
Dow’s book signing held extra significance because of the Christy award, he said.
&uot;That’s very prestigious among Christian fiction,&uot; Hall said.
