NATCHEZ — The Natchez Board of Aldermen has unanimously appointed Danny White as the chief of the Natchez Police Department. White had been serving as interim chief.

White said he was excited to serve the community as chief.

“I’m very excited, and I intend to do a great job for the community,” White said.

The only other remaining candidate for the job was Rudy Babin of Baton Rouge.
