FERRIDAY — Services for Tanya Smith Collins, 49, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Willis-Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Eugene Williams officiating.
Burial will follow in the Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ms. Collins was born July 11, 1962, in Ferriday, the daughter of Cleveland and Lillie Mae Savage Deleho.
She was a switchboard operator for Riverland Medical Center.
Ms. Collins was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Sarah “Mitt” Austin and Castella Minor; uncle, Henry Hagans; aunt, Ruby L. Melancon; and special cousin Deloris Pipes.
Survivors include her parents; daughter, Brooke Collins of Shreveport; two brothers, Charles Washington, and wife, Evan, of Houston, and Darrington Smith of New Orleans; four sisters, Wanda Carter, Pamela Harris and husband, Edward, all of Ferriday, Debra Hall of Los Angeles, and Cynthia Roberson and husband, Larry, of Houston; special friend Briggette Morales and husband, Bernard, of Ferriday, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
