Officials say they have identified a student who called in a bomb threat to Natchez High School Wednesday from a classroom on campus.
&uot;We feel sure we know exactly who it is,&uot; said Superintendent Dr. Carl Davis.
Other students saw the suspect make the call after lunch from an in-school detention room, Davis said.
Police were notified of the threat at 12:52 p.m., said Police Chief Willie Huff.
Officials promptly evacuated the school and searched the campus, Davis said. They did not locate a bomb so the students returned to class.
Calling in a bomb threat is a felony and students may not realize that officials can trace those calls, Davis said.
&uot;I think our kids sometimes think it’s a joke, but we are not going to have it,&uot; Davis said.
