NATCHEZ — The Ridgeland Police Department is investigating the apparent homicide of Natchez native Carmen Sanders.
Sanders, 22, was found murdered in her Ridgeland apartment at approximately 11 p.m. Friday night her father Charles Sanders said.
Charles Sanders said his daughter was living in the Jackson area while studying medical technology at University Medical Center.
Sanders said the Ridgeland Police Department told him they are looking for a person of interest, but have not divulged any other information about the case.
He said police have not told him if the person of interest has any relationship to Carmen Sanders.
“That — person of interest — is how they said it to us,” he said. “That is all they have said. We are all in the dark except for them saying they are investigating and didn’t have anything to report.
Carmen Sanders was a graduate of Natchez High School.
“She was well liked by everyone,” Charles Sanders said.
