Lake St. John Flotilla

Pier judging for the Lake St. John Flotilla will begin at 1 p.m., with the parade and blessing of the boats to follow at 3 p.m.

The boats will line up at the north end of Lake St. John led by Concordia Parish Sheriff Kenneth Hedrick, followed by Grand Marshall Monelle Mosely. All other boats will follow, passing the Rev. Louis Sklar of St. Patrick Catholic Church to be blessed.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the flotilla.

“We hope it is a lot of fun for everybody and we have a huge turn out this year,” said Richard Alwood, Flotilla committee member.

Alwood said the committee stresses the importance of all boats making the complete circle and stopping at all four piers to ensure everyone a complete Flotilla experience.

Several prizes will be given after the event at Spokane Resort, including multiple cash prizes.

Registration for pier judging is $5 and boat judging is $10.

Admission to all events is free.
