NATCHEZ — Services for Charles Billy “Sonny” Wells, 78, of Olla, La., formerly of Natchez, who died Monday, July 2, 2012, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Aaron Carpenter officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Wells was born May 4, 1934, in Philadelphia, the son of Lester Lee Wells and Alice Mae Peebles Wells.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one stepdaughter, Cathy Burkley; one stepson, Robert Todd; and one brother-in-law, Jake Middleton Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Wells; two sons, Chuck, and his family, Kay, Seth, and Zac, all of Combine, Texas and Billy and his family, Michelle, Brooke, Jessie and Declan, all of Ruston, La.; one stepdaughter, Cheryl Frasier and her family, Jimmy, Jenna and Leighann, all of Church Hill; one stepson, Larry Todd and his family, Miranda and Ken Price, all of Pollock, La., and Travis and Tracie Todd, both of Vidalia; one daughter-in-law, Annie Todd and her family, Robin, Robbie and Sam, all of Vidalia; one son-in-law, Rodney Burkley and his family, Ashley, Justin and Alison, all of Church Hill; 15 grandchildren listed; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Peggy Middleton of Natchez; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jake Middleton Jr., Tom Middleton, Fred Middleton, Jimmy Frasier, P.L. Matthews and Kevin VanNorman.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Olla United Methodist Church, Cypress Grove Hunting Club, Middle Fork Creek Hunting Club and a number of fishing and hunting buddies from Olla and Church Hill.
