NATCHEZ – Reaching out to the community is taking a new route and will be aided by new material in the coming months.
On Tuesday, Michael Ferdinand, executive director of the Natchez-Adams County Economic Development Authority, announced a new grant from Entergy that will help the EDA upgrade marketing material for use in luring new businesses to the area.
&uot;Every so often we need to update our brochures and such that have demographics and information about Natchez-Adams County so that it stays relevant,&uot; Ferdinand said.
It has been three years since the last update, according to Ferdinand.
&uot; That’s about average for these statistics. They are usually good for about that long,&uot; he said.
Also, Ferdinand said he is looking into ways to reach out to unions in the area.
&uot;We are talking to existing business and perspective businesses. Setting up a relationship with unions is another way we can reach out into the community,&uot; he said.
Ferdinand has been talking with other economic development agencies to see how to establish relationships with unions.
