VIDALIA — A dispute about a $10 tattoo needle led to a shooting incident late Monday night.
Christopher M. Walker, 20, 100 Hickory St., Apt. 4, was arrested Tuesday on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm following the incident, which happened outside his residence.
Vidalia Police Chief Ronnie G. “Tapper” Hendricks said Walker had apparently gotten a $10 tattoo needle from the victim of the incident in Natchez sometime earlier, and had agreed to pay the victim for the needle later.
“(The victim) came over to Vidalia to get his $10 and they didn’t pay him,” Hendricks said.
“(The suspect) was in the middle of a tattoo, and (the victim) said, ‘Can I get the tattoo gun?’ When he got it he took the needle out and said, ‘That’s my needle,’ and left.”
Following the exit of the victim, Walker allegedly got a handgun and fired some shots at him as he drove off, but the bullets did not strike the victim or his vehicle, Hendricks said.
Vidalia police investigators retrieved 9mm shell casings from the scene, Hendricks said.
Walker was detained without bond Tuesday.
