A lifetime historian, Mr. LaSalle first read about Springfield Plantation when he was 16 years old. Later in life, he became instrumental in preserving the historic Fayette property. He and his family have leased the house since 1977 and restored it using their own money. He has donated most of the furnishings his family has collected over the years to the Historic Springfield Foundation.
