NATCHEZ &045; Police on Monday arrested a Natchez man in connection with a Dec. 21 armed robbery attempt outside Britton & Koontz First National Bank’s Main Street branch.
James Priest, 50, of 506 N. Rankin St., was arrested late Monday morning without incident at his house. He was booked into the Natchez City Jail on one count of attempted armed robbery, said Interim Police Chief Mike Mullins.
In the incident, which happened late on the night of Dec. 21, Priest allegedly brandished a kitchen knife and demanded $500 from a woman who was standing at the bank’s automated teller machine.
The woman, however, fought off her attacker, who walked away in the direction of Franklin Street.
