ST. JOSEPH, La. &045; It was a memorable night for the Trinity Episcopal Saints as they defeated the Tensas Academy Chiefs 77-37 to win the District 7-1A championship &045; their fifth straight.

&uot;Not many schools can say they’ve won five straight district championships in any sport,&uot; TE head coach David King said. &uot;We’re very proud of that. But our goal all along has been to win the state championship.&uot;

Dudley Guice Jr. led Trinity (23-5, 10-0) with 26 points. Chase Brown had 16 points, Gregory Ketchings added 13 points and Mike Lickliter chipped in with 11 points.

Tensas (7-15, 7-3) tied the score at 2, then Trinity went on a 27-2 run to take a 29-4 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Chiefs got its offense going in the second but still trailed the Saints 53-21 at halftime.

Matthew Bauerle led Tensas with 12 points and Bryant Killen added eight points.

Central Private 65, ACCS 51

CENTRAL, La. &045; Central Private was geared up this time, and the Rebels from Central kept things at their pace to put away ACCS.

Central Private (17-9, 7-4) held a seven-point lead heading into the fourth quarter and finished off ACCS with a 19-12 run to take the District 3-AAA contest.

&uot;Central Private played well,&uot; ACCS head coach Ricky Gray said.&160;&uot;They controlled the tempo and spread it out. They played a game we didn’t want to play. We looked tired tonight. I’m not sure why, but it didn’t look like we had that extra step we’ve been having.&uot;

Central Private battled to a 17-14 lead by the end of the first but started to pull away in the second with a 17-11 run for a 34-25 halftime lead.

Bernard Robert led CPS with 24 points. Dustin Case was AC’s top scorer with 16.

MSD 51, Cathedral 45

NATCHEZ &045; The Green Wave (3-13, 1-6) had its offense in high gear in the first quarter with 22 points, but then they went cold the rest of the way and MSD (19-3, 7-0) took advantage to take the six-point win.

C.J. Durham led MSD with 14 points. Brandon Miner added 12 points and Courtland Clay chipped in with 10 points.

Vidalia 106, Rayville 78

VIDALIA, La. &045; Rayville stayed close with Vidalia in the first quarter and the early goings of the second quarter, but once the fourth-ranked Vikings got over the turnover bug, they were unstoppable as they defeated the Hornets by 28 points.

Ajay Warner led Vidalia (18-4, 4-0) with 21 points and David Wilson came up just two blocked shots short of a triple-double, finishing with 17 points, 12 rebounds and eight blocks.

&uot;He (Wilson) was a little nervous at the beginning, but he settled down,&uot; Vikings head coach Robert Sanders said. &uot;All but one (player) scored for us.&uot;

Tony Hawkins had 16 points for the Vikings.

Parklane 69, Huntington 57

FERRIDAY, La. &045;&160;The Hounds overcame a sluggish first half against the Class AAA Pioneers but managed to play better in the second half to make things interesting.

Parklane (15-7) jumped to a 36-25 before the Hounds matched its 15 points in the third to put the Pioneers’ lead at 51-40 heading into the fourth quarter.

Lance Newlon led Parklane with 23 points. Jordan&160;Owens led Huntington with 18.

Wilkinson 60, Franklin 53

WOODVILLE &045; Wilkinson County turned to its defense in the second quarter to erase a five-point lead after one quarter of play and held on for the seven-point win in Division 7-3A action Tuesday night.

Bernard Robinson led Wilkinson County with 13 points and Bryant Spiller and Timothy Jarvis had 12 points each.

&uot;I think the biggest turning point was that we outrebounded them,&uot; Wildcats head coach Henry Story said. &uot;They beat us on the boards there. We beat them on the boards here.&uot;

Wilkinson County (20-7, 7-3) trailed Franklin County (13-7, 7-3) 14-9 at the end of the first quarter, then outscored the Bulldogs 14-4 in the second

to take a 23-18 halftime lead.

McCall 60, Ferriday 53

FERRIDAY, La. &045; Brandon Gultery’s two 3-pointers and 13 points led a balanced attack for the Dragons, who got an important district 3-2A win.

Eight players in all scored for McCall (15-8, 3-1), half of which landed in double figures, who withstood a late surge when the Trojans’ LaKendrick Nix fouled out of the game with 25 points and more than three minutes to go.

WCCA boys 45, ASC 43

LIBERTY &045; A huge second half effort got the Rams a road victory in a

must-win situation Tuesday night.

Trailing by eight at halftime, the Rams cut halved their deficit in the third period and headed into the fourth down 35-31.

But WCCA (5-10, 5-5 MPSA district 7-1A) didn’t let up there and continued to score at will until it was able to escape Liberty with a win.

Jason Reed and Brad Pritchard led the Rams with 15 and 10, respectively.

While Dean Lewis and Robert Young accounted for 14 and 12, respectively for the Rebels (4-12, 2-9 MPSA district 7-1A).
