NATCHEZ &045; Services for Clyde Hurcel Smith, 87, of Vidalia, La., who died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, at Camelot Leisure Living, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Lou M. Ball

Services for Lou M. Ball, 79, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, in Natchez, will be held at 11 a.m. today at Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd with the Revs. Rick Cloud and Robert McGehee officiating.

Burial will follow in the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Mrs. Ball was born July 8, 1923, in Clarksville, Tenn., the daughter of the Rev. Henry James and Sarah Epperson McGehee.

She worked for many years as an executive secretary for the Kellwood Co. in Summit. She was a U.S. Navy WAVES veteran, serving in World War II. She was also a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.

Survivors include two sons, John Tyler Ball and his wife, Eileen, both of Natchez, and David McGehee Ball and his wife, Megan, both of Alpharetta, Ga.; four grandchildren, Daniel Tyler Ball, Tyler Trotter Ball, Kenneth Luke Janette and Ginger Michelle Janette; and one great-grandson, Kenneth Ryan Janette.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Ball, Luke Janette, Wallace Willard, Bryant Adams, John Hudson, Jim Blough and Duane Stevens.

Memorials may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Vidalia.

William Davis

NATCHEZ &045; Services for William &uot;Billy&uot; Davis, 51, of Roxie, who died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel, with the Revs. John Collard and Tommy Bonds officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Davis was born Jan. 29, 1952, in Magnolia, the son of Leslie Neil Davis and Virginia Rosella Allen Davis.

He served as a medic in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam, was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Natchez and attended Abundant Life Church in Natchez.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Jo Davis of Roxie; three children, Michael Paul Davis and his wife, Nickie, of Roxie, April Lowery and her husband, Billy Ray, of Natchez and Leslie Ray &uot;Bubba&uot; Davis of Roxie; four grandchildren, Morgan Davis, Tyler Davis, Alyssa Edens and Ginney Lowery; two sisters, Carolyn Breithaupt of Natchez and Sandi Thomas of California; and a mother, Emma Mae Newman of Wesson.

Pallbearers will be Robert Biglane, Rodney Pollan, Mike Willis, Walt Brown, Eddie Walker and Jerry Dantzier.

Memorials may be made to the building fund at Abundant Life Church, the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.

Mary Lucille Huff

4 Sept. 11, 1911 &045; Feb. 7, 2003

GLOSTER &045; Services for Mary Lucille Huff, 91, of Homochitto, who died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Gloster, with the Rev. David McGuffee officiating.

Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Huff was born Sept. 11, 1911, in Amite County, the daughter of Jim Griffin and Phebe Robertson Griffin.

She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Robert E. Huff of Crosby and James A. Huff and his wife, Ann, of Natchez; five grandchildren, James A. Huff Jr., Ken A. Huff, Tim K. Huff, Larry N. Huff and Sherri Jo Huff; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Huff, Timmy Huff, Ken Huff, Larry Huff, Tres Rhems and W.W. Maxie.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Neal Huff Jr. and Austin Huff.
