Firefighters, police deserve praise

A few weeks ago we had a false fire alarm on Canal Street. After receiving a phone call from the alarm company we rushed to my daughter’s home and there were already three huge but beautiful fire trucks surrounding the house. There were also a few Natchez Police cars nearby.
The firefighters were dressed in their firefighting gear with hard hats and there were bottles of oxygen everywhere I looked. These guys were ready and able to fight any potential fire that may have been going on at the time. Fortunately for us, we believe the dust caused by some construction work inside might have caused a smoke detector to alarm the proper authorities.
These guys were professional in every way. We were embarrassed for causing such a scene, but each and every one of them made us feel relaxed and told us it was better to be safe than sorry.
It was a warm feeling to know we have such a great group of professionals on our forces.
I personally would like to commend these brave men and women who work for our city. They obviously have been trained well by their department heads.
Our town seems to be in good hands with our firefighters and police department.
