NATCHEZ — Consult your Cajun French to English pocket translator and Thursday night’s goal is simple — let the good times roll.
The theme of the ninth annual Vidalia Chamber of Commerce Awards Appreciation Dinner — Laissez les bons temps rouler — is aimed at recognizing the good in the community, Chamber Director Jamie Burley said.
And it’s not too late to sign up.
Businesses or individuals can purchase tickets by calling the Chamber office at 318-336-8223 before noon Thursday.
Individual tickets are $75. Table sponsorships range from $600 to $800 for a dinner table of six. Social hour sponsorships — including two dinner tickets — are $250.
The social hour, with entertainment by Sylvia Johns Ritchie, will begin at 6. Dinner catered by Anne Vidal Willett begins at 7 p.m. The program will be over by 9 p.m.
Awards for the Vidalian, educator, business and businessperson of the year as well as the hospitality award will be given out.
Lonnie Bridges, senior vice president of organizational and executive development of Paragon Casino, will be the keynote speaker.
“He’s a motivational speaker, and I just had to have him,” Burley said. “If anybody has people that are always on the negative outlook, I think this will be an awesome thing for them to attend to hear him speak.”
A comedian and magician — Nathan Roberts — will also entertain briefly.
Proceeds from the event fund the operational expenses and special projects of the Vidalia chamber in the coming year.
Burley said approximately 130 people had signed up as of Monday, but she’s expected a crowd of 155.
