NATCHEZ &045; The parents of a Natchez native who was murdered along with his fiancee in Tennessee 12 years ago will visit Natchez and Centreville next week to sign copies of their new book, &uot;The Day Hell Knocked On Our Door.&uot;

Larry and Carol Vine, who pastor a church in Camden, Tenn., wrote the book to help other families who are coping with the loss of loved ones.

&uot;Once we went through this, we began to see there were so many people who have never healed,&uot; said Carol Vine.

The couple will sign copies of their book on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Flower Station on John R. Junkin Drive in Natchez, and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Vine Brothers Restaurant in Centreville.

The Vines’ son, Danny, and his fiancee, Della Thornton, were killed in a robbery at Danny’s house near Camden on the night of January 16, 1991.

Four men were later convicted and sentenced to life terms for their murders.

In the book, which describes the four-year murder investigation and subsequent trials, the Vines’ relate their testament to the power of God in providing justice and healing for families of murder victims.

The Vines lived in Natchez in the early 1960s and have many relatives in Wilkinson County.
