FERRIDAY — Parents looking for summer activities to keep their children occupied can cross Wednesday afternoons off their list.

The Delta Music Museum and Arcade Theater will be showing free summer movies for children kindergarten through sixth grade at 1 p.m. until July 25.

Director Judith Bingham said the movies are an easy way to entertain children on hot summer days.

“During the summer, the kids don’t have a whole lot to do, and they’re easily bored,” Bingham said. “We just always try to do something to keep them interested and get them out of the house.”

The program, which is in its fourth year, offers a different movie and an enrichment program during intermission each week.

“Every year we have people come in and do enrichment classes to try and teach the children manners, sanitary habits and other things,” Bingham said. “Anything to help enrich a child’s life.”

Lemonade, juice and popcorn will also be served to the children.

The only requirement for the program is that a child must have an adult in attendance for supervision.

“One adult can bring more than one child, but they can’t just drop them off,” Bingham said.

The movies will be shown at the Arcade Theater.
