NATCHEZ — Services for James Arthur Eidt, 72, of Natchez, who died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the church.

Mr. Edit was born Sept. 26, 1939, in Natchez, the son of Andrew Hall Eidt and Edna Cagle Eidt.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Andrew Hall Eidt Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Stallone Eidt; one son, James Arthur Eidt Jr. and Teresa Busby; two daughters, Erin Eidt Myers and husband, Macky, and Tracy Eidt Militello and husband, Randy; six grandchildren, Catherine Myers, Rebecca Myers, Sydney Eidt, James Arthur Eidt III, Sean Militello and Luke Militello; two brothers, Andrew Eidt and wife, Laura, and Sammy Eidt and wife, Prissy; three sisters, Delilah Beesley and husband, Walter, Sue Beesley and husband, Ken, and Phyllis Barrett; two sisters-in-law, Pat Joseph and husband, Fred, and Barbara Lomasney and husband, Mike; special friends, Mary Ann Nichols and James T. Harris Jr.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Paul Eidt, Lance Beesley, Ken Beesley, Craig Beesley, Brent Joseph, Kevin Lomasney, Barry Iseminger, Jess Dossett and John Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Duke Mallory, Allen Brown, Tom Armstrong, David Tomkins, Carl Kaiser, Greg Green, Williams Lyles Jr. and Larry Singleton.

Memorials may be sent to St. Mary Family Life Center, the Alzheimer’s Association or to a charity of choice.
