Thanks for supporting Susie B. White Scholarship Foundation

Just a short note to say “thank you” to all those who supported this year’s Susie B. White Scholarship Foundation golf outing that was in Natchez on Saturday, April 7. We appreciate you helping get the word out.
Thanks to the contributors, we were able to award two $1,000 scholarships to deserving recipients. They were very grateful for this financial support to help with their education.
In addition to other criteria, all applicants are required to write an essay describing why they felt they should receive the scholarship. The recipients’ essays expressed their desire to aim high and be the best they can be and their need for this assistance.
The awards were given during the annual prayer breakfast at the Greater St. Mark Baptist Church in Natchez, where each recipient was asked to read his or her essay aloud during the breakfast.
We are hopeful that in 2013, we can provide assistance to even more of Jefferson and Adams counties’ finest citizens. The Susie B. White Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit organization, operating under the Greater St. Mark Baptist Chuch where the Rev. Maurice Irving is the pastor.
In closing, we are very appreciative of your support in 2012 and pray that we can count on you in 2013 to help us continue to educate another Mississippian.
