FERRIDAY — Services for Yvonne Washington Brown, 82, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Beulah Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Michael Reed officiating.
Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brown was born Sept. 29, 1929, in Frogmore, the daughter of Clifton and Priscilla Loomis Washington. She was a dietitian for Concordia Parish School Board.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Samuel “Sam” Brown Jr.
Survivors include four sons, Samuel Brown III and Johnny Brown, both of Ferriday, Donnell Brown and wife, Alba, of San Antonio, Texas and Anthony Brown and wife, Brigida of Baton Rouge; three daughters, Ophelia Moore and husband, Jimmie, of Portland, Ore., Eunice Jackson and husband, Lawrence, and Paulette B. Warner, all of New Orleans; one sister, Ethel Batiste and husband, Jeffery, of San Mateo, Calif.; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three special nieces, Sharon Jones and Tanya Miles, both of Ferriday, and Glenda Jefferson of New Orleans; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
