NATCHEZ — The Natchez Planning Commission will meet at 5:15 p.m. today in the Natchez City Council Chambers for a special-call meeting regarding the Arlington oil well operation.

After its May 17 meeting, the commission decided to continue any action on RMB Exploration’s proposed oil well until the special call meeting.

The proposed operation, which is on the opposite side of the oil exploration the company conducted earlier this year on the historic Arlington property, was denied by the Natchez Preservation Commission at the commission’s May 23 meeting.

Mike Biglane of RMB Exploration has appealed the Natchez Preservation Commission’s denial of the operation to the Natchez Board of Aldermen.

The board will hear the appeal at its Tuesday meeting in the council chambers.
