NATCHEZ — The Ryan’s Restaurant location on D’Evereux Drive has closed and the property will soon be put up for sale.

Nathan Riggs, a spokesperson for Ryan’s parent company, Buffets Inc., said the restaurant closed because it was underperforming. Riggs said Buffets Inc., which owns the land and building, decided the sale of the property would be more valuable than operating the restaurant.

“(The company) felt the real estate would be worth more in the sale than the small amount of cash flow from keeping (the restaurant) open,” Riggs said.

Riggs said the restaurant closed last week, and he said all the restaurant’s employees were provided severance pay.
