Attend forum before making choice

Published 12:01 am Thursday, May 31, 2012

Two of the most critical and exciting elements of our daily lives are decisions and choices. Naturally, we all want the clearest and most up-to-date information available to us when we make those decisions and choices.

Just that kind of information will be presented to the voters of the City of Natchez at 8 a.m. Friday morning at Natchez Coffee Company on Franklin Street.

All the remaining candidates in the upcoming June 5 city elections have been invited by the Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce to present their views and answer questions at the weekly Friday Forum.

The format for the forum is planned as follows.

First, the mayoral candidates will begin at 8 a.m. and receive questions until 8:25 a.m. There will be a two-minute time limit on their answers. Candidates will draw numbers for speaking order. There will be closing remarks by each candidate with a two-minute time limit.

This will end the mayoral candidate round of questioning.

From 8:30-9 a.m., the aldermen candidates will receive questions.

These candidates (Bob Pollard, Dan Dillard, Sarah Smith, Forest Foster) will draw numbers for speaking order with a two-minute time limit on their answers. They will end their session with a two-minute closing statement.

Questions may be submitted to the chamber and/or written questions from the floor to be addressed to all candidates at natchezchamber@natchezchamber.com.

Maybe your mind is made up … maybe not!

Either way, please come join your neighbors and friends at Friday Forum and take advantage of an opportunity to hear more about our city candidates!

Friday Forums feature community conversations each Friday morning on topics of interest to everyone in our community and are presented through a partnership of Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce, Alcorn State University and Natchez Coffee Company.
