MEADVILLE &045; Natchez High’s soccer teams ended up with a split with Franklin County Friday night.

In the girls game, Stacy Weaver scored three goals, all in the first half, as the visiting Lady Bulldogs won their fourth game in a row with a 6-1 win over the host Lady Bulldogs.

Merissa Moore scored her first goal with Natchez High (4-3), which occurred just three minutes into the game.

Then Stacy Weaver went to work, scoring first in the 12th and 20th minutes and then right before halftime. Ashley Mitchell added a goal at the 24th minute for a 5-0 Natchez lead.

Sarah Weaver scored on a penalty kick to give Natchez a 6-0 lead before Caroline Yarbrough scored late in the game for Franklin County to end the shutout bid.

The boys game, on the other hand, could have gone either way.

Franklin County thought it had taken a 1-0 lead in the first half and was celebrating the goal, but it was waived off because a Bulldog player was offsides.

The score remained 0-0 at halftime and stayed that way until Natchez (3-4) scored when Robin Blake’s kick deflected off a Franklin County defender and Tony Edgell kicked the ball into the net at the 20th minute.

But Franklin County answered with a goal by Chase Evans at the 25th minute and Chris Blackwell scored what ended up being the game-winner on a breakaway goal at the 32nd minute.
