WOODVILLE &045;&045; Only one fire truck will be stationed in the Town of Woodville for the next four weeks, Woodville Fire Chief Louis D’Aquila told aldermen at their regular meeting on Tuesday.

D’Aquila said the Wilkinson County firetruck normally stationed in Woodville will be out for repairs during the next month.

&uot;Under our mutual aid agreement with the county, they (the county) will send one of their trucks here to stand by whenever our truck is called out-of-town,&uot; D’Aquila said. Wilkinson County maintains firetrucks at Fort Adams, Centreville, Woodville and Buffalo.

Aldermen also agreed to rent the former Polk’s Meat Market building at Main Street and Boston Row to Woodville resident Denise Poole for a business venture.

Poole said she intended to make some renovations inside the building. Board members agreed to deduct the cost of those improvements from Poole’s future rent.

Poole did not disclose the nature of her business plan. The small wood-frame building is one of 250 properties included in Woodville’s Historic Preservation District, so tenants cannot alter the building’s outer structure or facade.
