NATCHEZ — Services for Mona Madge Phillips Martien, 84, of Natchez, who died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Adams County Nursing Home, were 2 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Natchez with the Rev. Dr. Doug Broome officiating.

Mrs. Martien was born June 14, 1927, in Jackson, the daughter of Earnest Phillips and Eva Miller Phillips. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Natchez.

Mrs. Martien was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Doris Rasberry and Virginia Cook.

Survivors include three daughters, Rebecca Mayer and husband, Bill, of Vidalia, Deborah Fisher and husband, Terry, of Natchez and Nancy Parker of Fayette, Ala.; one brother, E.C. Phillips of Longview, Texas; six grandchildren, Ashley Wiggins, J.J. Rabb, Brigette Mayer, Brandon Mayor, Victoria Yearta and Nicole Burton; 13 great- grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Special thanks to the staff at Adams County Nursing Center, where she resided for five years. Mrs. Martien considered them her second family.
