McCOMB &045; After getting their first MPSA&160;District 2-AAA win of the season last Friday night by defeating Hillcrest, it appeared the Lady Rebels had some momentum on their side.

But the Lady Pioneers, led by Erin and Rebecca Brabham, stopped that momentum in a hurry as they broke a close game with a dominating second half performance en route to a 58-36 win Tuesday night.

Erin Brabham had 25 points and Rebecca Brabham added 12 points for the Lady Pioneers (11-5, 3-2), who moved into a tie for third place in district play with the Copiah Academy Lady Colonels, who lost to Central Private 63-36.

South Pike 60, Natchez 55

MAGNOLIA &045; The trio of Eboni Brumfield, Brittany Fultz and Jessica Stalling scored a combined 45 points as the Lady Eagles rallied from a shaky second quarter to defeat the Lady Bulldogs Tuesday night.

Natchez (5-9) held South Pike to just seven points in the second quarter to take a 25-23 halftime lead, but the Lady Eagles, after cutting the lead to one at the end of the third quarter, outscored the Lady Bulldogs 20-14 in the fourth quarter for the win.

Harrisonburg 65, Monterey 32

MONTEREY, La. &045; The outcome of this District 3-B matchup was decided early as the Lady Bulldogs jumped out to a big lead and never looked back.

Crowville 76, Ferriday 55

FERRIDAY, La. &045; Their worst fears came true. And to make matters worse, big Crowville post Keisha Jones never came off the floor.

Jones finished with 39 points in the Lady Bulldogs’ win over Ferriday. With no one to really match up underneath against Jones, the Lady Trojans were concerned about that coming in.

The Lady Bulldogs took a 38-17 lead at halftime thanks to 14 from Jones in the second quarter. West Lincoln 70, Cathedral 24

BROOKHAVEN &045; Lady Green Wave head coach Erin Binns said it earlier in the season: Folks in Lincoln County know how to play some basketball.

That observation got repeated for her Tuesday, as the Lady Bears held Cathedral to single digits in every quarter and scoreless in the third period.
