300 jobs coming to La. airport

LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — An aircraft maintenance company is adding at least 300 jobs at Chennault International Airport in Lake Charles.

Aeroframe Services said the planned hirings announced Friday will bring its total work force at the airport to 550 employees.

The Lake Charles-based company says the new jobs will pay an average annual salary of $55,000, plus benefits.

Gov. Bobby Jindal and Lake Charles Mayor Randy Roach joined Aeroframe president and CEO Roger Porter at Chennault for the announcement.

The privately owned company performs maintenance, repair and overhaul work for commercial transport aircraft.
