LORMAN —Alcorn State University President Dr. George E. Ross announced recently the appointment of Dr. Ruth Nichols as associate vice president for branch and extension campuses at Alcorn State University.

In this role, Nichols will provide senior level leadership in the Office of the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs and be responsible for the administration and operation in Vicksburg, Natchez and all locations other than the main campus.

She will work with all units of the university to grow off campus locations, create a Continuing Education Department, increase accountability of off-campus operations, expand the university’s services to generate additional revenue and carry out the mission of ASU.

Nichols has most recently served as special assistant to the president in charge of off campus development at Alcorn State University.
