NATCHEZ — Funeral services for Bernice Edgar Green, of Natchez, who died Sunday, May 13, 2012, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Natchez with the Rev. Doug Broome officiating.

Burial will follow in the family plot at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at Laird Funeral Home and 1 p.m. Tuesday until time of services at First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Green was born Oct. 7, 1932, in Vaughan, the daughter of Ulmer and Pearl Edgar.

Upon graduating from Millsaps College in 1954, she made her home in Natchez. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, held numerous positions in the Women’s Missionary Union and served on many committees. She served on the board of the Mississippi State Women’s Missionary Union. She was a member of the boards of the Natchez Garden Club and the Natchez City Cemetery.

Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Paul G. Green; one son, Paul Glenn Green and wife, Bridget, of Natchez; one daughter, Deborah Westbrook and husband, Ricky, of Anniston, Ala.; four grandchildren, Brian Westbrook, Catherine Westbrook, both of Anniston, Vicki Eastland and husband, Jacob, Natalie Phillips, and one great-grandchild, Leif Eastland, all of Natchez; two brothers, James Lester Edgar and wife, Natalie, of Maurnelle, Ark., and Roy Gene Edgar and wife, Mary, of Valrico, Fla.; three nieces and three nephews.

Pallbearers will be Billy Pyron, Lynwood Easterling, Kenneth Moss, Bill Rice, Forest Persons, Will Nolan, Robbie Savant, Spencer Stutzman, Jerry Moore, Owen Hornstein, Sam Gwin, E.C. McAndrews and George Ward.
